Emo Hairstyles are becoming more and more popular nowadays – What has led to such an increase in people wanting to adopt this new emo haircut? For starters, bands such as Green Day and My Chemical Romance have transmitted the message that these emo hairstyles are the new fashion.

Not only the above but they are becoming more common on TV, on the streets and everywhere else you might look. I suppose it’s because the society’s independence is growing. More teenagers now have more freedom than 10 years ago. Afterall, the main message that emo haircuts convey is the freedom of expression.

An emo haircut allows the person, whether it is a girl or a boy to shape their hair in any way they want from highlighting their white blonde hair to a classical short mullet style. This type of haircut can never go wrong as it represents a person’s personality. Many emo people spend a long time in front of the mirror working their socks off to achieve that perfect haircut they are after.

Not only have the emo hairstyles become more popular but they are now also considered more ‘sexy’. You can see various images of emo hairstyles and compare them to other type of haircuts and see which you find more attractive – I am not saying that all types of emo haircuts are ‘cool’ and ‘cute’ but a high majority of them are. If a person knows exactly they are after then they are going to achieve it and be unique on the streets.

In conclusion, if you would like to find out more about emo hairstyles and other emo fashion then I encourage you to visit the website below. Afterall, all you need is some dye, scissors and maybe a razor to achieve the perfect haircut illustrating your personality!

Emo Hair And Fashion

August 13, 2010 :: Posted by - admin :: Category - Emo Fashion Tips

Emo hair styles are strongly related to the traditional punk hairstyles from the 80s. More recently however the emo type has developed a more fixed type of view and its own fashion with it.

The emo hair styles vary every time depending on the person wearing it. More than one factors must be taken into account; for example if someone in Gothic clothes tries to pull an emo hair style, they might not be considered emo at all. Therefore, the clothing, skin piercing, tatoos and other features will also help in distinguishing between different people.

However, there are numerous characteristics that emo styles have in common:

* Bright and deep colours, particularly brought into view by highlights or long bangs. The highlights are often in contrast with the background of the rest of the hair. Most emo girls or boys dye their hair black or a gradient of brown/ black. In some emo girls, lighter colors such as white blonde, purple and green are very common and they do look attractive indeed.

* Emo hair styles also tend to be more loose and have no restraints. Let’s take the bangs haircut for boys – in this example, the hair is simply left to model around the side of the face without any elastic bands or clips; this also stands true for girls.

* The most important factor and one that definitely a lot of boys who want to look emo have adopted are the long/ large side bangs. These usually hide either the left or right eye and consequently cover the side of the face, while on the other side the hair is cut shorter. The direction of the hair is also towards the side with the bangs as to create a mono directional type of haircut.

* The fourth factor on my list is a deliberately messy look! This look is always individual and therefore reflects a user personality and style! Others should never be copied no matter how good you think their emo haircuts look! Always try to impose your own emo hair style and style in general.

At the end of this article, you must also remember that being emo is not all about your hairstyle. Sure, you can have an emo hair style but you will also eventually have to change your fashion and style. Lastly, remember that it’s all about having fun and showing your personality to the world!

Emo Fashion Tips for Girls

July 05, 2010 :: Posted by - admin :: Category - Emo Fashion Tips

Emo fashion is all about expressing individuality and the deep emotions related to hardcore, alternative rock music that define this style era. So creating your own emo look can be challenging. The totality of the look requires a blend of elements from preexisting fashion genres, such as punk, geek and goth. Melding matte, black hair with dark makeup and clothes is a good way to imitate an emo look. But for girls who want to achieve a more authentic emo style, there are a few style basics to consider.

Hair

The first thing that most people notice when evaluating an emo look is your hair. Emo hair should be cut short and choppy in the back with long layers in the front, almost resembling a reverse mullet. Emo hair should be dyed or streaked black, but incorporating bright colors is also acceptable. Adding spikes to your hair or pulling your bangs across your forehead to drape over one eye are other ways to accentuate the emo look.

Makeup
Emo kids tend to highlight their eyes to create the illusion of a bigger or rounder shape. Using dark eyeliner and dark eyeshadow to brighten the whites of your eyes is a good way to achieve this look. Painting your fingernails with dark nail polish accents and emphasizes the dark nature of emo styles. Keep in mind that emo skin tone should be as pale as possible without the assistance of makeup. If you start applying white foundation to your skin to create a paler complexion, your look may become more goth than emo.

Clothes
Emo is sort of the youngest child of outcast fashion with hand-me-downs from punk, geek and goth styles. Girls can accessorize with geek-inspired square, black eyeglasses. Hoodies worn with patches and pins pay homage to the punk style era. You can punch up the emo effect with a hoodie that adorns an image of your favorite indie band. Completing the look with boots add a common style element found in both the goth and punk culture. Think strapped or combat boots for a dramatic effect. High-top sneakers can also be worn for a more toned-down, casual look.
